How can I or my school/group participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF?

Join The Original Kids Helping Kids® campaign, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, and help save children's lives!  Together with your school, neighborhood, or family, you can design and run your own fundraising campaign this Halloween.  Every dollar you raise for UNICEF will help give kids around the world the basic things they need to survive and grow.  It's easy! Just follow these steps:

  1. ORDER you or your school/group's free Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Kit by visiting www.unicefusa.org/trickortreat or calling 1.800.4UNICEF (please allow 5-10 business days for delivery).  The kit includes orange collection boxes and fundraising resources—like a DVD that shows how UNICEF makes a difference for children around the world, reward stickers, posters, door hangers, and education materials (for Grades K-6)—everything you need to participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF this fall.

Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.  Boxes are also available at Hallmark Gold Crown® stores starting September 10th and any Pier 1 Imports® store starting September 24th. To find a store near you or your school/group, visit www.unicefusa.org/trickortreat

We will be taking orders until October 30 at noon (EST) but can only guarantee delivery by Halloween if you or your school/groups order is received by October 25.  However, for orders received after October 25, we will make every effort to try to get you or your school/group materials by Halloween day.

  2. CREATE your or your school/group's fundraiser. Visit the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF website, call the toll-free number 1.800.4UNICEF or visit the online volunteer center at www.unicefusa.org/volunteer for step-by-step fundraising guides, fun ideas and helpful suggestions:

    1. Educate yourself and/or your school/group about UNICEF's lifesaving work.
    2. Decide when your campaign will begin and end.
    3. Create a fund-raising plan and goal.
    4. Ask parents, students and teachers for help.
    5. Raise money by trick-or-treating with friends and family or by organizing craft/bake sales, penny drives, raffles and charity events.
    6. Try fundraising online with "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Online" (you must be age 13 or older).
    7. Download a free Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Volunteer Handbook.
  3. DONATE in your or your school/group's donations:  There are three easy and convenient ways to make your or your school/group's Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF donation—by Coinstar® Center, check/money order or credit card. Once we have received your or your school/group's donation, an acknowledgement letter will be sent and will also serve as a tax deductible receipt.

    • By Coinstar® Center: Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF participants can empty the coins they receive from their collection boxes into a participating Coinstar Center located in more than 13,000 retail locations across the United States.  To designate UNICEF as the recipient of the change, select UNICEF from the option screen or enter code 5555.  Coinstar Centers will count the change and provide a receipt for your coin donation.  To find a participating Coinstar Center, go to www.coinstar.com

    • By check/money order: Checks and money orders should be made payable to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Mail all checks/money orders, Coinstar receipts, and donation transmittal form to:

      Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
      125 Maiden Lane
      New York, NY 10038

If you are participating as a school/group, please write your school/group name on the check or money order so we can thank you for your gift.

    • By credit card: Donations can be made online at the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF website www.unicefusa.org/trickortreat or by calling 1.800.4UNICEF.
